International seminar for youth workers & policy makers in (local, regional, national) governmental departments involved in youth & volunteer matters from Flanders-BE, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania
Theme:
Empower responsible voluntary workers in youth organisations
Aim:
Assessing what approach the policy and the youth sector adopt towards volunteers involved in youth (work) policy.
Key questions as subject of the seminar:
- What are the various definitions and types of voluntary work that can be singled out?
- How is voluntary work recognised and provided with support by the various policy-making levels?
- How is the expertise available to volunteers promoted?
- What approach is adopted towards trying to solve voluntary work problems (approach in terms of the over-regulation issue)?
- An exchange of ideas about voluntary work in the light of the European Commission White Paper on the youth issue and the joint objectives decided upon by the Member States.
- Exchanges of good practice.
- Recruitment, coaching, management and preservation of volunteers.

Personal action plans
Each participant has made an own Personal Action Plan (PAP). This will be implemented in the organisation(s) during the coming working year.
Concrete outcomes will be available in the report, that will be published soon.
